3: Setup in KStars

It's not easy to get the ASI120 (USB2) camera to work in KStars even after update of the firmware. With the new 64-bit version of KStars I got it to work almost perfect. But one year later when I setup a new Raspberry Pi5 I'm in trouble again. I have copied all my setups for the ASI120 to share some help.

The power through the Raspberry's USB port to the camera isn't good enough. You must have a powered HUB and good quality USB cables. If not, you get in trouble, some of the images tears and can not be used, the auto guiding will not work good. Got a lot of ideas from INDI forum.

Main Control:

Standard setting. At the Duration in the left window you can study the progress of the exposure, it counts down during exposure.

General Info:

Standard setting.

Options:

Note the "Save" button. Every time you change something in the setup you must save it with this button !

Image Settings:

This is very important, Format must be set to Raw 8 bit. Don't forget to save afterwards.

Image Info:

Standard setting.

Guider Control:

Test window, never used it.

WCS:

Standard setting.

Streaming:

Standard settings, streaming is not used when guiding.

Controls:

I can get it more stable if I set the BandWidth to Auto.

Guide Window:

This is how it can look when the guide camera fail. The image Origin point moves, that was one of the problem I had with KStars 32-bit but was solved with the 64-bit. That problem seems to be back with my latest install.
