Chrysler Crossfire
Replacement of battery


This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.


Content:

If you have a Mercedes SLK R170 with a 320 engine and not AMG version it's almost exact the same.

Note:
You have to work with the electric parts. Disconnect the battery, the negative terminal ! When disconnecting the battery the alarm and radio will be reset, be sure to have any codes that's needed!

4, Radio standby current:

These days I'm replacing the radio in the car, I want a more modern radio with USB and Bluetooth connections. At the same time I'm measure the current when the old is disconnect and when the new radio is installed.

When the old radio and its power booster is disconnect I have 100 to 110 mAmp in standby current. No difference compare to before.

This new radio must have the ignition at ACC, the first click stop. Before the radio is turned on it takes 500 mAmp.

Radio turned on and playing at low volume, 890mAmp.

And the radio at a bit higher volume, about the level when driving the car. 1000 mAmp or 1 Amp.
