The main purpose of this evening's photographing was to catch the comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon which will come on an another page later.
What we got here as a bonus was a strong aurora, not common where we live in Stockholm at 60 degree latitude.
It covered about 130x70 degree, more than what my wide angle zoom could handle.
At left the constellation Big Dipper.
We saw the aurora coming already when we photographing the comet in Western direction, first we thought, what an annoying cloud with a strange color. |

This is when the camera is aimed to the West when we photographed the comet, even here 10 minutes before we can see how the aurora builds up.
20 seconds exposure is a bit too long to freeze the auroras rapid movement on the sky.
The comet is now behind the trees. |

It's zoomed out to the lens' widest angle.
Just a few minutes after the time lapse sequence above the aurora started to fade away.
Notice the constellation Big Dipper on the left half.
It's second star, Mizar is a naked eye double star. |
