Chrysler Crossfire
License plate light

This is one information page of my collection of what I have repaired on my Crossfire.

Note:
You should not do any repair on your car if you don't have enough experience and knowledge! You use this information at your own risk! Don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Content:

Some Mercedes from 1997 to 2008 maybe have the same light.

Note:
When working with the electric parts disconnect the battery, the negative terminal ! When disconnecting the battery the alarm and radio will be reset, be sure to have any codes that's needed!

3, Fine trimming the frame of the LED light:

I have now used my new license plate lights for more than a week and the function is perfect what I can see. But as usually there are things that can be done better. The license plate light didn't fit perfect in the frame of the panel at the car. It was a plastic edge that stop it from slide all the way in.

This is the edge that hit the frame at the panel of the car. I must take it away without breaking the light. Take away the gasket before so you don't destroy it.

I had to use a little mild force with a pair of pliers to remove the plastic edge. It was to small space behind it to use the saw. Maybe the Dremmel machine had done a better job.

With a sharp knife I removed what was left of the edge.

Finished, will it fit or have I destroyed it ?

Much better fit now, it slide all the way in and the gasket can fulfill its function and protect against water. It dosn't sit very strong in place and it's easy to remove it.
