My travel in Europe:

Day 4, Andratx, Valldemosa, Soller

Second day with the rented car. We read about a market this day at Andratx and we start with a visit to that place.

Andratx:

Our first stop at Andratx, we want to see the market today, lot of cars and we have to park far away. But then we have to walk through the exiting narrow alleys.

This day the trip was only 150 km, but lot of beautiful things to see. By mistake we let the GPS take the highway over Palma instead of the coast road.

They sell fruits, vegetables and clothes on different streets.

Only stayed for a short time, we a lot of things and places to visit today.

Valldemossa:

After we had found a parking place we went to the town's center.

Valldemossa is famous for its beauty. I thought it was a palace, but it's a village up in the mountain.

Walking along the streets and looking, there will be no problem to find a place for a coffee.

Lot of souvenirs of course.

Follow the street up to the cathedral.

The musician Chopin lived here for a while.

The Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa, 700 hundred years old.

Inside here there was a choir singing, no free access.

In the other direction the valley.

We walk through a gate and came to this place.

Beautiful place with a cafe or restaurant.

Time for a rest, coffee and soda.

Deia:

From Valldemossa we drove the coast road, this maybe close to Deia.

Port de Soller:

This coast village is famous for its old train, you can take it from Palma to here.

Nice beaches with nearby restaurants.

I have this old photo from when my mother visited Port de Soller 50 year earlier.

The trains are built in the 1920s or earlier.

In the opening into the bay there is three lighthouses. One to left and two on the right side.

An overflow channel, in the spring there can be massive outflow of water from the mountains.

Sat down at a restaurant for dinner, some tapas and fish today.

Cala Estellencs:

On the way home to Peguera we took the coast road all the way. Many beautiful views but not so easy to park the car along the road.

We are at the West coast and the Spain mainland should be over there, 200 km away.

My mother wrote on this photo, "The West coast of Mallorca", 50 year before I came to this place.
