Day 5, Palma Nova, Palma de Mallorca, Calo d'en Monjo

The third and last day we have the rented car. One of todays goals is to visit Palma old city.

Palma Nova:

The plan was to make a stop at Magaluf, but for some reason we found that it was Palma Nova we visited. But doesn't matter, they look the same.

This last day we only drove 55 km.

Beaches and restaurant streets.

After a while Gunilla recognize this building, she was here 50 years ago. Palma Nova was the first tourist place on Mallorca.

Just a short stop at Palma Nova. Now we heading for Palma de Mallorca, the main city and its old town.

Palma de Mallorca:

To take the car to a big city isn't any good idea. We found at last a parking 2 km away from the old city center. Maximum allowed time to park was only two hours.

In fast pace we walked towards the old town's center.

Placa de la Reina:

At the Queens square and its fountain.

Horse with cart, for tourists that want a detour in the city.

We follow the stairs upwards to where the big cathedral is.

Royal Palace of la Almudaina:

The palace was built already 1309.

La Seu, Palma Cathedral:

Cherry blossoms.

The big port of the cathedral, on the Northwest side.

A canon for the defence.

We walked around the corner and came to the Southwest side.

The entrance to the cathedral's museum.

In front of the cathedral is the ocean.

This is the direction to where we stayed, Peguera.

Museu Diocesa:

After the cathedral we walked around and looking at the other buildings. This was earlier a 13th palace, now a museum.

We passed a portal and looked inside, it looked interesting and we investigated further.

Museu de Mallorca:

The yard into a museum.

A water outlet. We looked at the clock, only 20 minutes left of our parking time !

Esglesia de Santa Eulalia:

In fast pace passing by churches and other buildings.

A couple of narrow alleys and we where back at the car.

Calo d'en Monjo:

We found a nature reservation close to where we live. We decided to visit it before we return the rented car.

On the gps we could see that this lead us to the sea.

Strange place but beautiful. Looks like an old camping place, now abonded.

Down there, is it a boat house, or ?

Sat down for a while, need some rest, enjoyed the view.

Platja Palmira:

Without the car we don't have to worry over parking places and others. We relaxed at the beach restaurant, a Serrano ham with melon.
